Spooktacular Giveaway Hop


Welcome to the fifth annual Spooktacular Giveaway Hop hosted by Kathy of I Am A Reader, Not A Writer. Halloween is such a fun holiday and preparing for it is even better.   1. I loved Anna Dressed in Blood! It had an interesting killer ghost that became a love interest! LOL I also loved The 5th Wave and The Forest of Hands and Teeth because they were chilling in the way that what if something like that really happened! Thanks for the giveaway!

  20. I don't read a ton of scary books, but I remember reading the book Spook when I was a kid. I don't know who wrote it, but I believe it was one of my moms books from when she was young. I LOVED it! It was a sweet story with a scary witch undertone. But it was a happy ever after story so I read it over and over again!

  23. Honestly? Books like Gone Girl absolutely terrify me. There was another one I read called Before I Go To Sleep that was just traumatic. I'm more of a psychological thriller kind of reader. Things that could ACTUALLY happen and show the more sinister side of normal, every day people... those are truly spooky!

  40. I don't really read scary books outside of vampire books. The Mayfair Witches by Anne Rice though was a bit scary because the "main" character was for the most part an unknown entity harassing the witches. I can's say much without giving away plot.

  41. I don't know if I could narrow down one favorite, but Salem's Lot was the first "scary" book that I'd read outside of reading the Goosebumps series as a kid. I loved it then, and love it now.

  63. My favorite 'spooky' book was one that I read as a kid, "In a Dark, Dark Room and Other Scary Stories" by Alvin Schwartz. It is my favorite because it was suspenseful and even scared me.

  66. There are several Stephen King books that work. The Shining, Bag of Bones, etc are spooky! To me Spooky needs a bit of unknown mystery and ghost element which King does so well.
